Rain Down

You heavens above, rain down My righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness flourish with it; I, the LORD, have created it.

—Isaiah 45:8

It has rained for several hours now.

Night has fallen as the rain continues to bring life-giving moisture as every drop falls.

Salvation is a gift from God.

It is life forever, coming from the love of God to us.

But Seek First

We see those words all the time.

We say those words all the time.

“I am seeking an apartment closer to my workplace.”

“Within the next year, I will pursue a degree in business from the local college.”

“I am looking for a good mechanic who can repair my car.”

“I have been searching for love my entire life.”

So, since those are familiar words, what does it mean to seek the kingdom of God?

And, beyond that, to seek it first?

Matthew 6:33 reads, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.

How can we seek, look for, search for, and pursue God’s kingdom and His righteousness?

Jesus said,

 “So don’t worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’  For the idolaters eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.  Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

—Matthew 6:31-34

Right and True

For the word of the Lord is right and true;
    he is faithful in all he does.
 The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
    the earth is full of his unfailing love.

—Psalm 33:4-5

In your own life—-

Haven’t you found that God’s word was right?

That it was true?

Don’t you feel that God loves justice?

Can you see His unfailing love all around you?
