Walking by a butterfly garden, I noticed a very old water fountain.
It may have been in working order, but I didn’t try to find out.
Had I been really thirsty, I might have been more interested.
There was no guarantee that it would produce water.
Even if I had been close to dehydration, the fountain might have worked and it might not have worked.
Jesus said,
“But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
The whole of humanity is not thirsty; we are, however, in need of a Savior.
Jesus is that Savior and we need look no further for another one.
Once we have Jesus, that is enough.
