Believe In Your Heart

Today is our third son’s birthday.
We have four sons.
Our third son was killed in a car accident in 2005. He was 19 years old.
When he was in elementary school, he gave his heart to Jesus.
I still have the Bible he read when he was in high school and college.
The pages and bent and it is somewhat tattered.
Remembering him today—loving him, missing him.
It brings everything to a true focal point.
All the things in my son’s life that are not the most important get moved off the table to leave only one.
Just one.
Did my son know Jesus as His Savior?

The answer is “yes.”
That’s the most important thing.
Because it is “yes,” he is alive with Him now, and will always be.
In my life—and in yours—we MUST ask the question: Do we believe in God the Father and in His Son Jesus Christ?
*
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
—Romans 10:9

In the midst of your painful memory of your absent son is the quiet peaceful assurance that your son is with Jesus. Thank you for sharing this, it is a great encouragement Myra! Isaiah 40:11 – “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart”
