There are dandelions in my neighborhood.
Walking not far from my house, I could see several of them glowing in the sunlight.
Looking closely, it’s easy to see all the seeds, ready to go flying away.
They will someday, and when they do, there is the hope of a new creation.
A bright yellow dandelion, bursting with color, born from the tiny seed that landed on fertile soil.
Every dandelion graced with seeds silently speaks of a yellow-blossomed meadow to come.
The writer of Hebrews tells us,
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
When we see dandelion seeds ready to fly, we hope for the day when the new plants will appear, even though we do not see them now.
We have faith that they will come.
Spiritually, we have faith that one day we will exchange our earthly bodies for our heavenly ones.
What is mortal will become immortal.
What is temporary will become eternal.
What can succumb to illness will be forever well.
We have that assurance.
We have that hope….
