It could be said that I possess a variety of skills in many areas, as you surely do.
There is one arena in which I possess almost no skill.
Couple that with a true lack of knowledge on the subject and, there you have it–
me, trying to play pool.
Every time I play, I have to ask questions about what to do and when.
I always need help planning where to send the colorful balls rolling on the nice green table top.
Should I try to make the red one go over there?
Should I attempt to have the yellow one push the green one into the red one?
One thing is sure; no one seriously plays pool without planning out each shot.
Careful thought is given to the probable paths of the balls before any action is taken.
In the book of Proverbs, there is a verse that encourages this approach to life:
Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
If we carefully consider our actions—what we should be doing, where we should be headed—we will find that planning to stay on the right path has great rewards.
