The plane was soaring across the sky as the sun was setting.
It did so, leaving a powdery jet trail of blazing white.
The rays of the sun illuminated the trail long after the plane was gone.
When I think back five years, ten years—-even twenty—-did I busy myself accomplishing things that were eternally important?
Did I leave behind a blazing trail of obedience to God?
How about a visible witness of a life devoted to Him?
When I had moved away to another city, was there any evidence of lasting investment in the lives of those I knew?
I want my light to shine for others, even after I’m gone.
That means I have to start today, making decisions that honor God in all areas of my life.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
