To Cleanse Us

While I was walking out to my garage, I noticed him.

A White Ibyss was at the end of my driveway, bathing in the water that had collected there from a previous rain.

Thrashing about, likely getting every feather wet, he was fun to watch.

I stepped into the house to get my camera.

After I returned, I watched him again.

Wondering if he had a flock nearby, I found them gathered in a yard across the street.

This one had a mind of his own.

“You guys can look for bugs in the grass; I’m taking a nice, cool bath!”

There’s a lot to be said for staying with a group.

Sometimes there’s a lot to be said for choosing to go your own way and making your own decisions.

Like, for instance, becoming a Christian.

Everlasting life.

Even if all our friends find no interest in Jesus, we still must follow Him on our own.

It might mean leaving our friends on the other side of the street.

But, with our sins forgiven, won’t it feel good to be clean?

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
