Walking out to the lake, the sun was setting with a golden hue.
The old propeller sea plane was docked, quietly waiting for the next trip to journey into the clouds.
Jets had recently graced the sky, leaving their trails high above, crossing each other like glistening swords in a fencing match.
Before me was evidence of two eras of technology—propeller planes and jet planes.
Both successful attempts to bring mankind ever farther above the ground in flight.
Also, before me was the sun.
That giant, burning creation that God holds in place so that we can live.
There are things that we can do with the gifts and talents that He gives us.
But the things that God can do?
We can’t even imagine.
Beyond our thoughts and hopes, He is at work.
Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.
—Ephesians 3:20
