It was a quiet morning as I sat reading in the back room.
I had eaten breakfast and decided to just have a few calm moments to myself.
At one point, I was reading something about how in order for the sunlight to come into your life, you need to raise the blinds.
After seeing these words, I looked up and noticed that the blinds on the window directly in front of me were closed.
The brightest sunlight was mostly blocked except for a tiny strip that was allowed to break through in an uncovered spot.
There was a lesson for me both in what I was reading and in what I was experiencing.
I don’t want to block out the light that God has for me.
But do I still have blinds pulled down in areas of my life, not allowing what’s best?
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called–his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
—Ephesians 1:18-20
