It was an exquisitely constructed building.
As I stood inside, looking up at the windows, I decided to photograph my surroundings.
Being a tall structure, it was easily visible outside from a distance.
Layer after layer of materials had been finely crafted in order to create such architecture.
We are not so different from buildings, are we?
Although we don’t really change our height once we enter adulthood, our spiritual and emotional stature can change.
Isn’t it interesting how we describe ourselves and others with words like up and down?
We can feel so down about losing our job and feel so up and excited about our wedding engagement.
We can build others up or bring them down….
with our words or our actions–or both.
With encouraging and loving words, we can help to build them up, so that they stand tall, with a renewed sense of worth.
Layer after layer of support from friends and mentors serve to build us up, making our hearts tall and visible as we then interact with the world around us.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
