Driving home from church yesterday, my husband thought he saw an eagle on top of a utility pole.
We pulled our car over into a gas station.
Getting my camera out, I confirmed that it was definitely a bald eagle.
After taking several photos of this magnificent bird, we headed home.
Eagles bring several things to mind–strength,as well as an attitude of seriousness and authority.
The praises of Psalm 103 mention the eagle:
Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
God forgives our sins.
God heals our diseases.
God redeems our lives.
God crowns us with love and compassion.
God satisfies our desires.
In all this, isn’t our strength and vitality renewed like that of an eagle?
We all grow tired and weary.
We can forever look to God for renewed strength.
May we praise Him forever!
