He That Followeth

So, what sins have you committed?

That’s a scary question, isn’t it?
All the things you’ve done or said that have displeased God.
All the things you should have done when He wanted you to, but you didn’t.
When I think of my own life in this regard, well, I want to stop thinking about it.
It makes us uncomfortable, doesn’t it?
We have a record in the New Testament of an incident of sin.
The scribes and Pharisees had brought a woman to Jesus who had been caught in a serious sin.
They spoke of having her stoned because of it.
Jesus suggested  that whoever was without sin could throw the first stone at her.
He also stooped down in front of them and began writing on the ground.
No one knows what words he wrote, but finally, everyone went away and the woman alone was left with Jesus:

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:10-12

Whatever mistakes you or I may have made, Jesus offers us the light of life.
He wants us to follow Him.
What if we make more mistakes?
We ask for forgiveness and continue to follow Him.
Every time.
For the rest of our lives….

So, what sins have you committed?

They can all be forgiven, right now.
That’s a comforting thought, isn’t it?

So does the one minute conversation you had with someone on the bus when you told them of how God had changed your life.
