Walking along the asphalt parking lot toward my car, I noticed an ant hill—on the asphalt.
Without stopping, I walked a few more steps as I contemplated what I had just seen.
Next, I turned around and went right back to the little sandy disturbance and photographed it.
It seems to me that it would be much easier to have an ant hill in the grass.
At the very least, on dirt.
But, no, it was on, or actually under, pavement.
Not really knowing the mind of an ant, I don’t really know how difficult it is to find a crack or break in the asphalt and establish an underground community beneath it, but still an idea struck me.
Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that are less than ideal.
If it is the place that God is calling you to be, then even if it’s not the soil you expected to build your hill on, it’s the right place to be.
God will give you the strength to carry out His plan for your life.
I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
