I visited a farm last night.
Walking around and looking at the animals was such a treat for me.
Most of my "animal" time was spent with the goats.
Innocent looking, trusting, playful and inquisitive—they captured my interest for quite a while.
Since they are living on a farm, the owners see to it that all the animals living there are fed and cared for.
But what if they were all completely free, living in the wilderness?
They would be cared for then, as well.
All living things look to God for their very breath.
The lyrics to a popular Christian song say,
"Lord what we gonna do,We’re relying on you,
all eyes are on you Lord,
all eyes are on you, all eyes are on you Jesus."
(Lose My Soul–Tob Mac)
There are no other true options for us.
We can be tempted to look elsewhere for the meeting of our needs, whether they are spiritual or physical.
If we do look there, all that we will find in the end is emptiness and a lack of fulfillment.
Psalm 145:13b-16 reads,
The LORD is faithful to all his promises
and loving toward all he has made.
The LORD upholds all those who fall
and lifts up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food at the proper time.
You open your hand
and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
Truly, all eyes do look to God….
