I decided to take a late afternoon walk with both my dogs.
These excursions typically tend to look comical, as one dog pulls me forward faster than I want to walk, while the other dog is too tired to keep up the pace and drags behind, pulling me back.
As we began our adventure together, just us three, there was light rain falling.
Well into our neighborhood trek, with gray clouds around me on the horizon, I looked up above me.
I can’t remember what caused me to do so, but I am glad that I did.
Almost straight up from me in the sky was a beautiful cloud, blazing with color from the sun.
The sun’s rays were reaching it because it was so high in the atmosphere.
With two dogs and two leashes to hang onto, I took my cell phone and tried to pause to take a picture of the gray clouds to my right. Next, I took a picture of the cloud above me.
Both dogs were quite cooperative in allowing me a moment of stillness in order to make the photographs.
After walking a little more than a mile, I decided to come inside.
There are many times when things look dark and gray on our level.
All seems bleak and dreary.
Our view point, however, is not God’s.
He sees things from a different perspective.
If we look high above to Him, His light is shining, no matter what.
He is at work, even when we cannot see it.
For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. –Psalm 108:4
