Last night, I decided to read the Bible before I went to bed. The house was quiet. I opened the Bible randomly. I had turned to Luke, chapter 11. I read veses 9 through 13:
So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
I realized that I had read this very same scripture earlier in the week and it had happedned the same way. I had opened up my Bible to these verses, even then.
This morning, as I was sitting in a church service, the pastor spoke about Luke 11:9-13 as part of his sermon.. There they were again! God has placed this message before me three times. What would He have me learn from this passage? I truly want to know.
I need to seek, knock and ask….
…and then listen.
