About a year ago, a kind friend gave me an orchid plant. For quite some time, it displayed beautiful yellow blooms. For several months now, it has been without its flowers, existing very nicely in its leafy green state.
As I was walking up to my front door this week, I saw it—-the first orchid bloom of the year! Golden yellow, its perfect design was poised at the top of the stem as if it were just waiting to be noticed. The gift I had received so many months before was once again treating me to a visual delight.
The love of friends is like that—once it is given, it sets in and grows, blooming strength and encouragement season after season.
