Calmness

There have been times when I have not responded in a calm way to whatever was happening at the moment. There have been times when I did actually respond calmly. Looking back, I am most pleased with the calm times—the times when I didn’t say something I didn’t mean, I didn’t hurt someone’s feelings, or I didn’t waste a lot of time or energy on just being upset.

I may not be able to control the actions of everyone I meet, but I should be in control of my own. Responding in Christ-like calmness is a skill I am eager to learn.

Still learning that one as well…but it is good to recognize the little progress I have made.

The love of friends is like that—once it is given, it sets in and grows, blooming strength and encouragement season after season.
