Last night as I was reading the Bible, I came upon a verse that I had circled at some time in the past. I did not recall why. The words seemed to stand out at this time, in a special way. A family friend had been admitted to the hospital recently. Somehow, these lines seemed to speak to this situation:
Sustain me according to Thy word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope. (Psalm 199:116)
When I visited the hospital today, the fountain was constantly streaming water into the air and down on the surface—a continual flow that never stopped.
At some level, surely the fountain was placed there to be soothing to those who passed by. The sight and sound of the moving water was captivating. The continuous flow could serve as a reminder that God’s love is continual. He sustains us, throughout every day and every moment.
