Suddenly, I noticed them. TALL bamboo trees, standing stately near the water. They were grouped together, sharing the same area by the shore. Like papyrus, bamboo has been used as a writing material.

In the book of Job, chapter 8, verse 11, we find these two questions:

Can papyrus grow tall where there is no marsh?

Can reeds thrive without water?

It would be wise to ask myself some questions.

Can I grow strong in the Lord if I neglect reading the Bible?

Can I thrive in my faith without prayer?

Thanks, Myra, for your many powerful posts. It’s been a hectic time – I made a major blunder at work this week, then made 2 trips to the ER with a family member in the past 24 hours. (The relative’s on the mend, and work is OK, too–thanks to the Lord.) We missed worship. Your blog has refreshed me this afternoon in the Lord.

It’s easy to become accustomed to familiarity. When something moves out of the area of the familiar to the different, we take a second look.
